The Boston Celtics showed interest in Wisconsin Badgers legend Nigel Hayes this offseason, but the 6′ 8″ forward is going to play in Europe.
Hayes has signed a one-year deal with Barcelona – one of the most powerful teams in the continent.
Hayes played the last two seasons in Lithuania.
He averaged 9.5 points and 4 rebounds a game in 62 contests, shooting 44 percent on 3-pointers and hitting 89 percent of his free throws.
His new team is the defending Spanish League and Spanish Cup champions.
Barca finished second in the EuroLeague.
Former N-B-A players like Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic are on the roster.
