Four months after being named the winner of the 2021 Hobey Baker Award, former Wisconsin Badger standout Cole Caufield has the trophy in his hands.
It’s been a busy four months. After leading the nation in scoring for a second straight season, he joined the Montreal Canadiens and got to play in the N-H-L postseason.
Caufield was honored at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minnesota Wednesday.
Among those speaking on his behalf was Wisconsin hockey coach Tony Granato who told the crowd even though he’s 57 years old, he felt like he was 21 and a teammate of Caufield’s this past season.
He says that’s because of the energy and passion Caufield played with.
