The man accused of stabbing two people in Appleton back in March has pleaded insanity.
30-year-old Cornelius Pearson entered the plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect while in court yesterday (August 18th).
Judge Emily Lonergan ordered Pearson to undergo a psychiatric exam, with his next court date scheduled for September 17th.
Pearson reportedly knocked on the door of a home on March 18th and asked to charge his phone.
While in the home, Pearson reportedly began commenting on all of their nice things, and suddenly attacked a man and his wife.
The woman was stabbed twice in the throat, while the husband’s throat was slashed.
Both victims survived the attack, and Pearson has been charged with two counts of Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide with Use of a Dangerous Weapon, as well as Armed Robbery, Burglary while Armed with a Dangerous Weapon, and Felony Bail Jumping.
