Several teams converged on the former Sunset Elementary School in Sturgeon Bay yesterday (August 18th) to participate in active shooter training.
Several law enforcement, EMS, and Fire Rescue Departments were on hand, as they prepared for the worst-case scenario, a shooter in the halls of a school.
Multiple different scenarios were addressed, including scenarios where the attacker is armed with a weapon other than a gun.
After each drill, the teams were briefed on what they did well, and what they needed to improve on.
In total, there were six different four-hour training sessions, which Sturgeon Bay Police Sergeant Jason Albertson called necessary for the public safety workers to prepare for the worst-case scenario.
