
Former Wisconsin-La Crosse Hall of Fame football Coach Roger Harring has died at the age of 88.
Harring led Wisconsin-La Crosse from 1969-1999 with a 261-75-7 record and three national championships.
The first national title came in 1985 when the Eagles played in N-A-I-A.
The second followed in 1992 after U-W-L had moved to the NCAA Division Three Making the Eagles the first school in college football to win an N-A-I-A title and an N-C-A-A III title.
The program added another N-C-A-A title in 1995.
Harring’s 261 victories currently rank him 20th all-time among all divisions in college football history and tie him for fifth among NCAA Division Three coaches.
Harring is a Green Bay native who is in the College Football Hall of Fame.
