The suspect in the shooting of an Oconto Fall Police Officer last week was scheduled to be in court yesterday (August 12th) for a hearing regarding her mental state, but she refused to appear.
29-year-old Alisha Kocken’s attorney issued a letter to the Oconto County Court, saying she had ”reason to doubt [Kocken’s] competency” leading to the hearing yesterday.
Kocken has reportedly been competitive with jail staff, much like she was as she was being arrested, and at times, incoherent.
Psychiatric treatment has been ordered, with another hearing scheduled for August 20th.
Kocken’s criminal case has been put on hold while the psychiatric evaluation is conducted.
The victim in the shooting, Officer Nicole Blaskowski, was treated for wounds to her head at a Green Bay Hospital, but has since been released.
