A total of nine charges have been filed against an Oconto Falls woman after she allegedly shot a police officer.
Among the charges filed against 29-year-old Alisha Kocken are Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide, First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety with Use of a Dangerous Weapon, Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer with use of a Dangerous Weapon, and Aggravated Battery with Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
The officer was shot after she responded to a home in the 100 block of Elm Avenue on Friday (August 6th) after someone had called police, claimed someone was trying to kidnap her child and hung up.
Kocken was reportedly angry at her boyfriend, and while the officer tried to calm her down, Kocken attacked her, pulling her hair, and managing to take her weapon.
The officer was on her knees when three shots were fired, one striking her in the head.
The Officer was able to flee from the scene and received medical attention from an off-duty Oconto County Sheriff’s Deputy.
Kocken was eventually detained, but reportedly screamed things at officers including “I’ll kill you.”
The officer was taken to a Green Bay hospital but has since been released. It is not clear at this time when Kocken will next be in court.
