A five-alarm warehouse fire in Fort Atkinson forced about 50 people living nearby to evacuate their homes.
The sky was filled with black smoke for hours.
Fort Atkinson Fire Chief Daryl Rausch says the city’s water supply was nearly drained after firefighters pumped about 2,000 gallons a minute on the burning structure.
Rauch says a few firefighters suffered minor injuries, but nobody was inside the warehouse when it caught fire.
Emergency crews from five counties responded, with 150 firefighters involved.
They worked in 20-minute rotations due to the heat.
