Milwaukee Election Commission Executive Director Claire Woodall-Vogg says she wishes she hadn’t answered an email she received the night of the presidential election.
Since she made a joke about how long the vote count was taking, she has been receiving vulgar and threatening messages.
It started after two conservative websites published the exchange between Woodall-Vogg and an election consultant.
Milwaukee’s final tally wasn’t finished until the middle of the night.
That delayed the announcement of President Joe Biden’s victory in Wisconsin and fueled speculation of wrongdoing in the count.
Milwaukee police are reviewing the threatening emails.
