The Wisconsin Badgers football program may be a little pickier than some.
Coach Paul Chryst and his staff are welcoming three players to Madison through the transfer portal – running back Chez Mellusi from Clemson, defensive end Isaac Townsend from Oregon, and outside linebacker Thomas Brunner from Northern Illinois.
Other programs have welcomed more players, but Wisconsin has been more selective.
Mellusi could be important to a rejuvenated U-W ground game, but Chryst wanted to make sure he visited the Wisconsin campus before committing.
Coach Ross Kolodziej says they spent a lot of time looking into things like character and whether a person would “fit” into the Badgers program before asking them to commit.
