The Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission has scheduled a special meeting next week to decide what to do about its search for a new police chief.
When members get together Tuesday (August 10th) at 5:30 p-m they will make the choice of picking up where they left off – or starting a brand new search.
The effort had been suspended while the city resolved its litigation with former chief Alfonso Morales.
Four of the seven commission members haven’t been involved.
Acting Chief Jeffrey Norman has won the support of several key community leaders and city officials.
Five members of the Milwaukee Common Council have called for the commission to stop its search and watch to see how Norman can do the job.
