The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has decided to hold off release of its chronic wasting disease plan. The state’s big game officials have been working on it for more than a year. The D-N-R has already started implementing parts of the plan which explain restrictions on transporting deer carcasses, educating the public about the degenerative disease, and informing meat processors and taxidermists about the proper way to dispose of a carcass. It was originally supposed to come out this month for hunters and conservationists, but now it is scheduled for February.
