While Ripon city workers struggled to clean up in the aftermath of last week’s storms, they did get a sweet thank you from the people they were helping.
The power was out and some ice cream was about to melt last Thursday.
The owners of Sweet and Saulty Ice Cream Parlor said rather than toss all the melted ice cream into the garbage, it was handed out to those workers – for free.
High winds had knocked down trees and power lines, knocking out electric service city-wide, leaving about nine thousand people in the dark.
Crews worked around the clock to clean up the eastern Wisconsin city.
