More details have been released regarding the incident involving the Manitowoc County SWAT team yesterday.
Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South 14th Street at around 2:30 PM on Tuesday (July 20th) after a caller reported that her husband was high on meth and was making threats with a knife.
Officers arrived to find Dang Vang holding a six-inch knife stabbing the lower portion of a window frame.
Two females and another male in the home were able to leave without incident and claimed that Vang had threatened to stab them with the knife and hang them after smoking methamphetamine.
When the officers attempted to speak with Vang, he reportedly threatened them as well, saying he was going to kill them.
The County SWAT team was called in, and they utilized chemical agents to bring Vang into custody.
A total of seven charges have been filed against him, including Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property, both with Domestic Violence Enhancers, Threats to Law Enforcement, Failure to Comply, Habitual Criminality, and Possession of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
