Three different studies suggest an expansion project at the La Crosse Center could mean more than six-million dollars annually in economic impact on the region. The last time the center was expanded was 17 years ago. Organizers want to expand west toward the Mississippi River. A financial report submitted last week estimated the expansion would bring in an additional 14-to-25-thousand annual visitor, spending six-to-nine-million dollars on hotels, restaurants and retail purchases. A presentation should be made to the La Crosse City Council in the next two months, with ground-breaking possible by late summer or fall 2018.
