A police chase in Elkhart Lake required authorities to use spike strips and a PIT maneuver in order to stop the suspect.
According to a report from the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called at around 6:30 PM on Sunday (July 11th) after a driver had led officers with the Elkhart Lake Police Department on a Chase south on Highway 57.
The Deputies joined the pursuit, which made its way east onto Highway 23. The Deputies utilized spike strips at Willow Road, just east of Plymouth, to deflate the vehicle’s tires, and then a PIT Maneuver, which is where the officer hits the side of the suspect car at the rear wheel, causing the car to spin 180 degrees.
The driver was then arrested on charges of Fleeing from Police, and his 5th Offence OWI.
