
The Northeastern Wisconsin Great Lakes Sport Fishing organization has announced the winners of their 46th Annual Salmon Derby over the 4th of July weekend.
Eric Schaus caught the largest Chinook Salmon, which weighed 28.66 LBS, while the prize for the largest Coho went to Mike Hoffman, who reeled in a 7.41 pounder.
Kevin Groh caught an 18.99 pound Brown Trout, while Logan Jansky captured a 21.7 pound Lake Trout, each bringing home a first-place win in the process.
And lastly, in the Rainbow Trout category, Jake Pries brought home the gold with his 15.82-pound fish, and also won the Big Fish Competition with a 26.36 pounder. That fish earned Pries a $1,050 cash prize.
There were 22 boats entered in the Super Tournament event on July 3rd, and Captain Jerry Schaus of the boat “Grandpa VI” took first place with a total fish weight of 94.4 pounds for a cash prize of $1,300.
