The CDC has issued a recall on several chicken items produced by Tyson due to a Listeria outbreak.
According to a post on Facebook, which was shared by the Manitowoc County Health Department, the affected products include various fully cooked chicken strips, diced chicken, and pizzas made with fully cooked chicken.
Listeria is a kind of bacteria that is found in soil, water, and some animals, including cattle and poultry. When eaten, Listeria causes a foodborne illness called listeriosis, which is one of the most serious types of food poisoning.
The CDC has reported that three people have gotten sick, and all three required hospitalizations, and one person died.
