Former Wisconsin Badger Hockey standout Cole Caufield continues to make his presence felt in the NHL, as he helped the Montreal Canadiens advance to the Stanley Cup Finals.
The Habs toppled the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 in game 6 of their series, which took place in Montreal.
Caufield turned on the jets midway through the 2nd period and sped past Vegas defender Brayden McNabb, before burying a shot top shelf, giving the Canadians a 2-1 lead.
Atturi Lehkonen put the nail in the Golden Knights’ coffin in overtime and punched the Canadiens’ tickets to the Finals.
They will take on either the New York Islanders or the defending champs, the Tampa Bay Lightning, who have game seven of their series tonight in Tampa Bay.
