Two initiatives in State Sen. André Jacque’s Clean Water Agenda are on their way to Governor Evers’s desk following passage yesterday by the State Assembly.
The De Pere Senator’s Clean Water Agenda includes a grant program known as the Private On-Site Water Treatment System, aka the Wisconsin Fund.
This program provides financial assistance to eligible owners of a principal residence and small commercial establishments by covering a portion of the cost of repairing or replacing failing treatment systems.
Also on its way to the governor’s desk is the Environmental Compliance Audit Program, or Enviro-Check Bill.
This legislation removes disincentives associated with Wisconsin’s Environmental Compliance Audit Program compared to a similar program offered through the federal Environmental Protection Agency.
It was unanimously supported by the bi-partisan appointees of the Wisconsin Department of Natural (DNR) Resources Small Business Environmental Council (SBEC), with language suggested by the DNR.
