Two people have been arrested in Brown County for stealing catalytic converters off of vehicles after they found passed out at a Kwik Trip.
Officers with the Green Bay Police Department were dispatched on a welfare check to the Kwik Trip located on East Mason Street just after 1:00 AM yesterday (June 22nd) and found a man and a woman passed out in a car.
Both individuals, 23-year-old Samantha Scharenbroch and 28-year-old Christopher Benz, had warrants out for their arrest.
A search of their vehicle uncovered an electric saw, replacement blades, a box filled with vehicle brake rotors, a catalytic converter, and several over items.
The duo initially denied stealing the converter but were seen on camera doing just that at the Green Bay Public School Auxiliary Services Building.
Both suspects have been charged with Felony and Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property, and two counts of Theft to Movable Property, while Scharenbroch was also charged with three counts of felony bail jumping.
