For a second straight game, a rally by the Milwaukee Brewers has fallen just short.
Outfielder Andrew McCutcheon pounded two solo home runs as the Phillies edged Milwaukee 6-5 Tuesday.
Brad Miller had a three-run homer for the Phillies and Aaron Nola picked up his third win.
Milwaukee rallied for four runs in the seventh inning, but couldn’t score again. A two-run homer by Jackie Bradley Junior cut the lead to one run. Eric Lauer had one bad inning, but it was enough to stick him with the loss.
Fielding errors resulted in four unearned runs.
The loss knocks the Brewers a half-game behind the idle St. Louis Cardinals.
Freddy Peralta starts tonight’s game (May 5th) in Philadelphia, looking for his fourth victory. He will be facing former Brewer Ace Chase Anderson in a game you can hear on 107.9 FM WOMT and at WOMTRadio.com starting at 5:30 PM.
