The City of Madison and Dane County say the MadiSUN program launched Tuesday will provide initiatives and grants supporting renewable energy to local residents, businesses, and nonprofits.
The local governments say the 2021 solar program is aimed at providing better access to renewable energy. It is now in its sixth year.
Program Coordinator Stacie Reece says it offers ways for those interested to go solar. Every rooftop solar installation is a move toward the city’s goal of 100-percent renewable energy. There are three programs available. One – Backyard Solar – offers up to $10,000 dollars to affordable housing providers and nonprofits that want to install solar panels.
