A 39-year-old Manitowoc man received minor injuries as a truck he was operating rolled over this morning in Manitowoc Rapids.
Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig says Deputies and EMS Personnel received a call just before 8:40 a.m. A preliminary investigation indicates that the operator was hauling a tanker/trailer containing manure traveling eastbound on US Highway 10.
As he attempted a northbound turn on to Highway T the tractor/trailer overturned into the ditch leaking some manure and diesel fuel into a privately owned reservation pond area near the intersection.
Traffic was detoured for nearly four hours during cleanup efforts. The driver whose name has not been released was treated on the scene. No one else was hurt and the incident remains under investigation.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Department on scene were personnel that included the Manitowoc County Highway, Joint Dispatch Center and Soil and Water Departments, Manitowoc Rescue, Branch Fire Department, Whitelaw Fire Department, and First Responders and Highway 42 Garage.
