Two Manitowoc Lincoln flights at the State Tennis Tournament went 4-1 on opening day in Lake Geneva.
The doubles tandem of Elsie Steimle and Kendra Peterson won their first two matches of the tournament, before falling in the quarterfinal match.
They still have a chance to earn the consolation trophy, as they take on the duo of Julia Tacmeier and Allison Rohrer of Green Bay Southwest. The winner advances to the 5th place game.
Meanwhile, Freshman Olivia Minikel started the tournament with a bye and won her next two matches to advance to the semifinal matchup.
She will be squaring off with fellow freshman Lily Olson of Madison Memorial for a chance to advance to the State Championship match.
