Manitowoc Lincoln Freshman Olivia Minikel has advanced to the third round of the Division One Singles flight at the WIAA Fall Alternate State Girls Tennis Tournament in Lake Geneva.
The Ships freshman drew a first-round bye then the three seed recorded a 6-2 6-0 straight-set win over sophomore Melissa Petrinski of Fond Du Lac.
Minikel takes a 15 and 1 record into the quarterfinals against sophomore Molly Hower of Eau Claire Memorial or Sophia Agrapov also a sophomore from Middleton.
Meanwhile- The Ships Senior Doubles Tandem of Elsie Stiemle and Kendra Peterson has reached the quarterfinals with a 6-2 6-2 victory over Brinley Bettcher and Courtney Carpenter of Oshkosh West. They next face Abby Erwin and Tatum Theilman of Stevens Point or Sophia Paape and Shelby Roth of Neenah.
