Manitowoc County will assist the City of Manitowoc with in-house paratransit services.
County Executive Tyler Martell has revealed that the county will lease its transport vehicles to the city to help improve efficiency and quality of service.
He also added that there will be a transition period, as the county wants to assure elderly and disabled residents that they can expect the paratransit services they rely on under a new service model.
Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels announced earlier this week that the city will work to bring paratransit services under city control after the private company, Assist to Transport, announced it will shut down at the end of the year.
