Milwaukee County is preparing for a leadership transition following Tuesday’s election for governor.
County Board Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson-Bovell will step in as acting county executive once David Crowley resigns to take office as governor.
Crowley officially remains in his post until taking his oath of office or stepping down before the January 4th inauguration.
A special election will be scheduled later to fill the remainder of his term through April 2028, while county officials emphasize that all services and operations will continue uninterrupted.
