The two men charged in the death of Payton Vertz will return to court today.
26-year-old Dominic Pilgreen and 15-year-old Nathan Reichard will make their initial appearances in Manitowoc County court today.
Both have been charged with 1st-degree intentional homicide after the 16-year-old Vertz was beaten to death before his body was found in a marina in Two Rivers.
Court records show Pilgreen could be transferred from the Waukesha County Jail to Manitowoc.
It isn’t known whether Reichard will appear in person.
A criminal complaint alleges that after Vertz was intoxicated by both suspects, they attempted to tie the 16-year-old to a tree.
He would escape multiple times before he was beaten to death.
Police began investigating after burnt clothing was found at Zander Park in Two Rivers, and students said Reichard said something about killing someone.
