The Manitowoc Chiefs football program is once again honoring a player who has showcased good moral character on and off the field.
The 5th Annual Morgan Daly Memorial Manitowoc Chiefs Character Award was given to Henry Kurtzwil, who Chiefs Vice President Michael Cummings said best exemplified the sacrifice, compassion, dedication, devotion, drive, integrity, and respect shown by the award’s namesake.
Morgan Daly played for the Chiefs from 2008 to 2010, and went on to play and coach at Valders High School.
He also believed in “leading by example and living with purpose, always striving to encourage, inspire, and be kind to others. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy continues through the young athletes who demonstrate these same qualities.”
As the Morgan Daly Memorial Manitowoc Chiefs Character Award recipient, Kurtzweil received a plaque, a certificate, and a $100 award.
Previous award winners include Josiah Martin, Aden Krause, Ethan Augustine, and Titus DiMarco.
