Members of the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA are getting a unique way to pick pumpkins for Halloween.
The Pumpkin Pool Party takes place this evening at the Y beginning at 5:30 p.m., with swimming before families will be able to decorate a pumpkin starting at 6:30 p.m.
Director of Community Engagement Steph Peters says on WOMT’s The Y In You Podcast that they are bringing the pumpkin patch to the pool, with pumpkins actually being put in the water.
“It’s going to be so much fun,” she remarked. “The kids get an hour of swimming with their pumpkins so they can choose the biggest, bestest pumpkin floating in the pool.”
The pumpkins will be donated by Wilfert Farms of Two Rivers. Families had to pre-register for the event.
