Three WIAA Girls Volleyball Sectional Semifinals on the docket for tomorrow feature local teams looking to take the next step to the state tournament.
Manitowoc Lutheran has been a Division 3 powerhouse for several years, earning back-to-back state titles in 2024 and 2025.
Their regular season record wasn’t quite as impressive this year, but they were still unbeaten in the Big East, and have cruised to wins over Chilton and University School to earn a Regional Championship.
Their opponent tomorrow is no slouch either. Oostburg finished the regular season 24-6, but their one loss in the Big East dropped them to 4th place.
The Flying Dutch bested Cedar Grove-Belgium and Howards Grove, each in straight sets to punch their ticket to the sectional round.
In Division 2, Plymouth had a tough battle to earn their spot in the sectional semifinals.
The Panthers took care of Sheboygan Falls in straight sets before hosting a back and forth, tightly contested match against Kewaskum in the Regional Finals.
The Panthers and Indians traded wins, most decided by 2 or 3 points, but Plymouth tightened up in the tiebreaker, winning 15-4.
They will be at Xavier, the #1 seed in their bracket.
Lastly, in Division 4, it’s an all-Sheboygan battle, as #2 Sheboygan Christian hosts #4 Sheboygan Lutheran.
The Eagles cruised to straight set wins over Hilbert and Roncalli in the regional round.
The Crusaders knocked off Ozaukee in straight sets in the regional semis, but needed four sets to take down Algoma in the championship.
All three of these matchups will begin at 7:00 tomorrow night.
