The Two Rivers Fire Department is celebrating the retirement of one of its own.
Firefighter/Paramedic Zak Peterson recently retired after 33 years of service to the Cool City.
Peterson started his journey in 1993 as the department’s first high school fire intern before becoming a full-time firefighter paramedic in 1999.
The Two Rivers Fire Department described Peterson as a “dedicated caregiver, respected leader, mentor, and friend who has made a lasting impact on our department and community.”
The department also thanked Zak’s wife, Minda, their three children, and everyone who supported him throughout his career.
