The Appleton Police Department had a unique interaction with a deer last week.
Body camera footage was released showing two officers investigating an incident where a deer jumped through the window of a residence.
While the officers were trying to figure out how to get the animal out of the home, the deer burst through a second window and ran off.
There was no one home at the time, so the officers made contact with the landlord and the resident.
The Department said of the incident, “While a deer entering an apartment is certainly unusual, increased deer movement this time of year is not.”
They used this incident as a reminder to drivers to “slow down, remain alert and scan the roadsides for deer, particularly during the morning and evening hours. If you see one deer cross the road, be alert for others that may follow.”
