Emplify Health urges people to use caution when driving ATVs and UTVs this fall.
While these vehicles are a fun ride, they have limited structural protection and a higher risk of crashes and injuries.
In 2025, there were over 300 ATV and UTV crashes resulting in 42 fatalities.
With this in mind, Emplify Health has several tips on how to stay safe while riding: never drink and drive, wear a helmet on every ride, always wear a seatbelt, dress for the weather, travel at an appropriate speed, only drive on designated trails and roads, make sure an adult is present for any driver under the age of 16, and complete a DNR safety course before driving.
These safety courses can be completed online or in person for anyone over the age of 12.
