Two communities in Manitowoc County will receive state funding for rural road projects.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) announced close to $70 million in grants in the latest round of funding from the Agricultural Road Improvement Program.
The Village of Reedsville will get a little more than $381,000 to help with making improvements to North 6th Street.
That’s 90% of the project’s funding.
The Town of Liberty will also get a little more than $1.62 million for repairs to Marken Road, which runs west from the Village of Valders south to School Hill.
Other projects in eastern Wisconsin include Kewaunee County getting rural road funding for County Highway B and Door County receiving funds for Mill Road in the Town of Forestville.
Governor Tony Evers says agricultural work in Wisconsin is “as important as ever, and I am proud that since creating the Agricultural Road Improvement Program in 2023, we’ve helped repair rural roads in every corner of our state.”
The program was created in 2023 and has included more than 9,600 miles of road improvements and 2,400 bridges fixed since 2019.
