The Sheboygan County Clerk has issued a statement following an investigation into his conduct regarding the voter registration system.
In that statement, County Clerk Jon Dolson shared, “As you are likely aware, a complaint was filed against me with the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC). On September 10, 2026, the WEC issued its determination that I intentionally accessed and shared an elector’s unredacted voter record from the voter registration system to try and resolve a neighborhood dispute.”
As a result of the investigation, Dolson’s access to the elector database has been suspended.
He has been ordered to receive additional training administered by the WEC Commissioner, and the matter has been referred to the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office.
Dolson added, “This suspension will not impede my ability to enter results into the WEC canvass system, and I fully intend to perform my election responsibilities as required by law. Please know that my Deputy Clerks and I are committed to posting fair, accurate, and secure election results on Election Day.”
