A nationwide event aiming to curb opioid addiction will be coming to Sheboygan County this weekend.
Tomorrow (October 24th) is Drug Take Back Day in Sheboygan County, offering residents a chance to dispose of unneeded or expired medications in their households in a safe and controlled manner.
In Sheboygan County, there will be four drop-off locations accepting medications from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
They include St. Nicholas Hospital in the City of Sheboygan, the Sheboygan Falls Police Department, Generations in Plymouth, and the Random Lake Fire Department.
While the list of items accepted is quite extensive, they include prescription and over-the-counter medications, ointments, pet medications, and inhalers.
Illegal drugs, needles/sharps, acids, aerosol cans, and personal care products, among others, will not be accepted.
A complete list of items that will and will not be accepted, as well as the addresses for all four locations, can be found by visiting sheboyganwi.gov.
