A Calumet County homicide case that was set for a jury trial is being delayed.
The attorney for 23-year-old Ethan Graverson asked to admit evidence earlier this month. Calumet County District Attorney Nathan Haberman objected to the motion and requested a hearing on it.
Haberman would submit a flash drive with an interview for the court to review before the motion hearing. Judge Jeffery Froehlich approved the hearing and canceled a scheduled November trial.
The motion hearing takes place on December 22nd.
Graverson faces one count of 1st-degree intentional homicide with a domestic abuse enhancer after he allegedly killed his father last year.
Reports say that the Hilbert man got into an argument with his father, which led him to grab a gun.
After shooting his father, Calumet County Sheriff’s Deputies say he put the gun on a bench, called 911, and waited for police.
Graverson said there had been tension between the two of them for years because of his father’s mental and emotional abuse.
