A man already incarcerated at the Oshkosh Correctional Institution is getting more time added to his sentence.
Brad D. Schimel, the First Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, has announced that 36-year-old Aijalon L. Baldwin was ordered to spend an additional 15 years in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release after it was learned he was sexually exploiting a minor.
He was already in prison for a domestic violence incident in 2023.
Between February and April of this year, prison staff intercepted illicit images sent to Baldwin, monitored phone calls in which Baldwin discussed sexualized topics with the child, and observed troubling conduct during video visits.
He also reportedly fantasized about strangling the child, which is what got him put in prison in the first place.
Oshkosh Police Chief Dean Smith said of the conviction, “Targeting children in our community is among the worst of the crimes that one could commit. We appreciate the work of the U.S. Attorney’s Office on prosecuting this case. Our officers will continue to work with all of our law enforcement partners to keep our community safe.”
