A central Wisconsin school district is investigating an apparent cybercrime attack resulting in a $92,000 loss.
Adams-Friendship Superintendent Dr. Nicki Ells announced yesterday that officials flagged an unusual payment request processed by their business manager in August.
The district immediately notified law enforcement and placed the business manager on administrative leave pending an ongoing investigation.
Administrators are currently working with insurance and legal counsel to recover the missing funds and review district financial security measures.
