A new initiative to make public transportation more accessible in Sheboygan begins this week.
Sheboygan’s bus line, Shoreline Metro, will hold its inaugural Bus & Beyond Community Day tomorrow (October 21st), offering anyone fare-free bus rides while service is provided.
Bus & Beyond Community Days will take place monthly on the third Wednesday of each month.
Shoreline Metro has said that the initiative is “designed to help connect residents with essential community services, employment opportunities, shopping, clinics, and other important destinations.”
They also explained, “Bus & Beyond Community Day is designed to be a feel‑good, community‑focused program that expands access, strengthens partnerships, and promotes the value of public transit. The program supports community integration, encourages new riders to try transit, and helps remove transportation barriers for those needing to reach services.”
