Wisconsin’s two U.S. senators and a congressman are confirming that their offices received suspicious mail containing unknown substances yesterday.
Republican Ron Johnson and Democrat Tammy Baldwin both released statements confirming their staff encountered letters at their Milwaukee offices matching a nationwide pattern targeting political and election offices.
Congressman Mark Pocan’s Madison office also received a suspicious piece of mail.
No injuries were reported in any of the three offices, and the letters were turned over to federal law enforcement for analysis.
The FBI and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service are leading a joint investigation into the origin of the mailings.
