Testimony focused on alleged child abuse on day four of the Timothy Hauschultz trial.
Child Pediatrician Dr. Lori Frasier took the stand this morning for the state, using her expertise in working with children who have been abused.
Assistant District Attorney Jill Vendetti asked the doctor to give her opinion on whether making Ethan and the other children carry logs constitutes child abuse.
Fraiser called the activity developmentally inappropriate and considered physical abuse. During cross-examination, Defense Attorney Donna Kuchler pulled out a whiteboard and a piece of paper and started writing down responses given by Frasier and hypothetical questions.
Vendetti objected, saying jurors should rely on the testimony from Frasier, not what Kuchler wrote on the board.
Calumet County Judge Carry Reed said he was concerned that there would be constant objections and would later ask to take the board away, citing inaccuracies.
Once she stepped down, questions continued about whether an interview with one of the children was allowed to be played, despite some objections to certain topics from the defense.
Judge Reed allowed the video to be played with portions redacted.
The child will then take the stand again this afternoon.
Timothy is charged with neglecting a child; the consequence is death.
Ethan, who was 7 years old at the time, was hit multiple times before his body was buried in the snow.
Ethan died later at a hospital after Timothy and Tina took him.
