The Roncalli football team took on the Valders Vikings on senior night yesterday (October 9th).
In a one-sided contest, the Vikings dominated their way to a 64-21 victory.
Despite the crooked scoreline, the game remained close in the game’s opening half, with Valders winning 28-14 at the break.
However, the second half was a different story, with the Vikings gaining firm control of the game behind senior running back Carson Wasmer, who had 60, 50, and 49-yard rushing touchdowns in the half, putting the game out of reach.
Roncalli would eventually find the end zone in the second half thanks to a good carry from senior running back Ethan Reimer to cut the score to 64-21, but that’s all the closer they would get.
Wasmer finished the night with 243 yards on the ground to lead Valders, while the Jets were led by senior tight end Jake Hillmer, who finished with 140 total yards and two touchdowns.
Valders improves to 4-3, 4-2 in the EWC, and Roncalli falls to 2-26, 1-5 in conference.
Up next will be a trip to Chilton for the Jets, while the Vikings will host New Holstein to close out the regular season.
