Juanita M. Firgens, age 84, formerly of Manitowoc, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Willow Lane in Appleton.
She was born October 19, 1941, in Breed, WI, daughter of the late Frederick and Esther (Nelson) Schulz. On July 1, 1961, she married Adolph Firgens in Breed, WI. He preceded her in death January 14, 2000. Juanita was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed the Christmas season, gardening, baking, going for walks, traveling with family, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by four children: Scott (Kris) Firgens, Appleton, Deb (Paul) Braun, Manitowoc, Amy (Tim) Braun, Manitowoc, Jeff (Jill) Firgens, Appleton; five grandchildren: Lizzy Braun and significant other Danny Miller, Madison, Halle (Trenton) Fassbender, Sherwood, Brenna Braun and significant other Gavin Frings, Madison, Jack Firgens, Appleton, Jenna Firgens, Appleton; siblings: Roger Schulz, Breed, Rita Ryan, IN, Judy Wanner, Mountain, Rick (Carlotta) Schulz, Breed, Bonnie Tuchscherer, Breed; sister-in-law: Dolores Schulz, Green Bay; brother-in-law: Tony Dembski, Gillett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Esther Schulz; her husband: Adolph Firgens; siblings: Arvid (Shirley) Schulz, Jerald Schulz, Bruce Schulz, Maxine Dembski, Arda (John) Duellman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc. Rev. Jonathan Huehn will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
