Nearly $18 million in aid is coming for communities affected by the July tornadoes.
FEMA has approved the storm and recovery aid for Forest, Outagamie, Vilas, and Winnebago counties, as they were struck by an EF3 tornado on July 27th.
The twister traveled 12 miles in around 20 minutes, causing an estimated $8.2 million in private property damage and over $13.8 million in public sector damage.
Congressman Glenn Grothman said of the announcement, “I was proud to lead our bipartisan congressional delegation in urging federal support following the devastating July storms and tornado. Local officials, first responders, and community members have worked hard to help their communities recover, and federal assistance can help build on those efforts… Their generosity reflects the best of Wisconsin.”
