A Kaukauna teacher accused of sexting with an underage person is free on bail.
43-year-old Ty Maki has posted his $10,000 cash bail as he faces a charge of Attempting to Expose a Child to Harmful Descriptions.
Maki was arrested on August 10th after it was discovered that he had been engaging in explicit chats online with an individual he believed was 16 years old.
However, he was actually messaging an undercover police officer out of Wausau.
As part of his bail, the former 5th-grade teacher at Kaukauna’s River View Middle School was ordered to appear at all court dates, not commit any crimes, not use any chat apps, neither directly nor indirectly threaten, harass, intimidate, or otherwise interfere with victims or witnesses in the case, and to have no unsupervised contact with anyone under 18, aside from his own children.
Maki is due back in court for a plea and sentencing hearing on November 2nd.
