The United Way of Manitowoc County is preparing for its cheesiest event of the year.
Their 6th Annual Curd Crawl gets underway on Saturday (September 10th) from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at six different restaurants throughout downtown Manitowoc.
Executive Director Ashley Bender explained on WOMT’s Be My Guest program that after attendees get a sample of cheese curds, they get to vote on their favorite and crown a cheese curd champion.
Bender says each restaurant will bring their own unique twist to the Wisconsin classic.
“They’re going to show off something that is probably on their menu, but they might dress it up a little bit,” she noted. “So it’s always a fun surprise for crawlers that come back. They get something different, maybe.”
Bars that will be a part of this year’s Curd Crawl include the Fat Seagull, Broken Plate, Brick’s Downtown Bar and Grill, Wrap It Up, Courthouse Pub, and KC’s Kitchen and Cocktails.
Each curd ticket costs $5 and includes a sample of cheese curds at each venue.
If you want more, United Way will have them available for purchase at each stop. There will also be raffle baskets and a crowning of the cheesiest trophy at the Fat Seagull, which will be picked toward the end of the Curd Crawl.
