There are three meetings today (October 5th) in the City of Two Rivers.
Up first is the Committee on Aging, which will meet in the Senior Center Library at 8:30 a.m.
After getting input from the public, the group will look over their usual monthly reports and be introduced to the School District’s new Director of Pupil Services, Jason Bull.
Then, at 5:00 p.m., the Public Utilities Committee will convene in the Committee Room in City Hall, where they will also hear input from the public.
Then, after getting the latest on the LSL and Water System Improvement projects, the group will receive updates on the Shoto Substation Construction and water tower painting project.
Closing out the day will be the City Council, which is set to be in the Council Chambers at 6:00 p.m.
After proclaiming this week as Public Power Week, the Council will authorize a resolution for Urban Forestry Grant and Urban Forestry Catastrophic Storm grants and another to repeal and recreate the section of the Municipal Code related to sex offender residency restrictions.
The proposal would replace the City’s existing residency provisions with a geographically based restriction prohibiting covered sex offenders from establishing a residence within 1,000 feet of designated protected locations, including schools, day care facilities, public libraries, public parks and playgrounds, and places of worship.
